Marubun's pioneering spirit and foresight always keeps us at the forefront of the times. |
| 1844 |
Dry goods wholesaler "Horikoshi" started a business, at the site of the present company headquarters, that went by the name "Marubun"; later operations were expanded to include export of silk thread and import of Western dry goods. |
| 1897 |
The dry goods wholesale business discontinued; Horikoshi Office established to manage the property. |
| 1928 |
The Horikoshi Company established as a limited partnership to preserve the property. |
| 1946 |
Nakazen Trading Company established to sell machinery, instruments and daily-use sundries. |
| 1947 |
The Horikoshi Company merged with Nakazen Trading Company to form the new Marubun Corp., capitalized at ¥ 7.03 million. |
| 1948 |
Started business as an exporter and importer mainly of machinery, instruments, and daily-use sundries. |
| 1949 |
Founded Maruizumi K.K. as a 50-50 joint venture with Tokyo Tsushin Kogyo K.K. (forerunner of Sony Corp.). |

Contracted with Rocke International, Inc., to serve as their representative office, and began import and sales of American machinery. |

Started to handle measuring instruments. Subsequently expanded lines of business to import and sell many types of foreign products, including aviation and space equipment, laser equipment and analysis equipment. |

Established a Technology Office to begin technical servicing of imported equipment.
Started handling Texas Instruments products including transistors, diodes and semiconductors. |

Kanazawa Branch Office became independent as Marubun Kanazawa Co., Ltd. (presently Marubun Tsusho Co., Ltd.). |

Marubun was first in Japan to import and sell integrated circuits, made by Texas Instruments Inc. of the United States. |

Started operations industrial and analytical equipment. |

Established representative office in the United States. |
| 1969 |
IC group specializing in sales of semiconductors established. |
| 1970 |
"Marubun Electronics Show" held to commemorate 125 years since the company's inauguration, establishing Marubun's position as an importer of advanced equipment into Japan. |

Contracted with Texas Instruments Japan Ltd. to serve as their sales representative. |

Contracted with Seiko Epson Corp. to serve as their sales representative; became the world's first trading company to handle foundry business. |

Started to do business with Nippon Motorola Ltd., expanding business in semiconductor products. |

Established Minamisuna Distribution Center. |
